Default Middlesex Regiment Relief of Ladysmith

I have just acquired two examples of the silk (?) ribbon shown which measures 64 cm by 6 cm.

It obviously commemorates the Relief of Ladysmith on 28th February 1900 and the part played in it by the Middlesex Regiment.

I assume it is simply a souvenir item.

Can anyone tell me anything more about it?

As it does not fall within my collecting interests I will be offering it for sale here so if you are interested in it please PM me.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jon
