Lincolnshire Regt Badge v A1A/21 Badge
I am trying to identify my fathers collection and I have a Lincolnshire Regt badge, not Royal, and some sites are saying it is a Lincolnshire Regt and some a Lincolnshire A1A/21 badge . What is the difference please ? I have seen that one has the Sphynx mane come all the way down and others like mine stop. I have tried a few books but again to no avail.

The badge is the design worn from just before 1900 until the 1950's. The regiment was granted the title 'Royal' post WW2 but there was some years before the new badges were issued. There are several (minor) styles of sphinx depending on the maker.
A1A/21 designation is not an official one to my knowledge. |

The royal title wasn’t awarded until 1946 in recognition for the regiments service in WW11 so the badge changed in time after this , I’m not sure what you mean for an A1A/21 badge never heard of this ?? Gerard
