Smile Durham Light Infantry Collection

Hi all,

Just showing a pic of my recently framed DLI collection - my dear wife is annoyed a shoebox collection and so slowly getting parts of collection framed and displayed in our house. A topic discussed many times but although permanent I have chosen to use an old period frame and had the badges mounted on thin card within and then had the frame built up at the back to keep the badges off the glass. Matches some frames of family portraits from military service and happy with the result.

Staring on next Durham's frame now and Lincoln's, Leicesters, KRRC, Paras, REME, RAOC and ASC to go ...

Cheers Dean

Thanks Rob,

I will let you into a little secret - I invited my wife to arrange them, enjoyed it, likes them now framed and wants to do more! V for Victory...

Cheers from San Francisco, Dean.

Dean

A job well done by both of you, a box mounted frame always looks great!

Thanks for compliments Brian and Kevin, pleased to share the collection with members.

The maltese cross pattern badges are 2nd and 4th VB badges in KC and QVC. I too am after a 6th Bn in maltese cross pattern. Much more detail is provided in my DLI album on these and all the badges in the part framed collection.

Cheers Dean.

Dean,

Very nice.

My opinion is that a collection like that deserves to be displayed in that way ( just think what the total value of the individual items is ).

My badges are displayed in a similar way and I like to think that screwing the frames securely to the wall provides some ( even if only a little ) additional security.

( if you dont collect badges because you like looking at them, I wonder why you do ?)

P.B.

Great frame job. I just took a look at your Durham album.
I love to see collectors put up albums by regiment. It really helps tell the story.
Thank you.

Phil
