Default 1st New South Wales Mounted Rifles Regiment

Hi Guys,

I just came across this image on Facebook.

Lieutenant Colonel Guy Knight, commander of the 1st New South Wales Mounted Rifles Regiment in the Boer War.

Has anyone ever come across the hat badge he is wearing? I've not seen that one before.

Mick

Default

looks like a Loyal North Lancs Badge?
He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment in 1887. [3] He was promoted to Lieutenant in September 1888 and Captain in July 1894.
