Default Parcels lost? Almost 4 months delay!

Hello all,
I have not received 3 parcels from the UK posted in the third week of May. Royal Mail tracker shows two of them as on their way to India while the other is still on its way from Southampton to Heathrow after nearly 4 months!

Should I give them up as lost? Two came from Rod Flood at Minden, and he said he would see about making a claim, but I'm really not bothered about the money and have not asked for a refund. There were some good badges and medals including a lovely silver Burma Rifles brooch and a rather scarce WAC (Burma) collar badge - something I would hate to lose and am a little upset about, but I guess there's not much I can do....

Even untracked parcels sent in June-August have arrived but there's no saying where these 3 are held up, though they're tracked. Indiapost say their records show it has not been recieved in Delhi or Mumbai..Wondering where they've got to and if Ive got any chance of seeing them..

I think I might just have to write them off. Anyone else here receiving delayed parcels after 3-4 months ... Even if sent by ship they should have arrived by now...

I'm still awaiting a package from the USA that was posted in April.

Mail from UK seems to be ok however.

I sent a large letter untracked to Canada from Australia in early April. Refunded the buyer a couple months later after it didnt arrive. He messaged a couple weeks ago to say it had just arrived!! April- August.

Ah! Then maybe there's still reason to hope! Fingers crossed!

My badges sent to Australia are taking 2 months, so yours are very late at 4 months.

These past six months things really have been all over the map, if you'll pardon the pun. From the UK to the USA (East Coast) I've had a small package of cloth shoulder titles take 2 months, two of metal S/Ts that took 10-14 days (pretty standard, and one of badges that arrived in less than a week. A package from Australia arrived in six days. An envelope from Russia took 3 ½ months.

I was happily surprised that my package from the lat DNW auction arrived yesterday!

It's difficult not to give up I know from experience, but there is no doubt the virus has played havoc with the mail. I am having good service from the UK to the US, but anywhere else is wait, and wait, and.....

Took 5 months for me to get a registered package from the US to Canada!!!

I guess the old saying - "Patience is a virtue"....but it ain't easy!

Ordered a book from England in March, got confirmation it was posted to Australia in May, arrived today. Still missing one from Spain. Have been getting stuff from the UK lately in good time but the US seems to be a bit slow.

I have now had one from Australia that's gone astray after several months. I kept holding out hope, and perhaps it will show up someday??? The seller, a member, has kindly sent a replacement and I am sure hoping it shows up. I offered to share the cost of the replacement with him as I have no doubt he mailed it, but all he asked for was to cover the postage.

I'm still getting good service from England, but recently mailed a small packet to Canada and again it's been weeks if not a month and the Canadian post just keeps showing "In Transit"!!!

I have a feeling when they record the year 2020, they'll say something like "We've decided to skip that year!"!!!

A very frustrating year all round. Similar experiences as above, some packages come quickly and others seem to get lost for long periods, but (touch wood) so far all have eventually arrived / been received for me.

Looking at the tracking logs has been illuminating - mine seem to have mainly got stuck at airports and sat there for weeks. When they've been in the hands of the actual postal services in whichever country they seem to have moved quite fast.

Having to learn to be patient (it's coming hard!!)

Bought off eBay a small badge way back around Jan this year.

It was tracked so I had tracked it but it seemed to spend WEEKS in transit. My brother jokes that it was sent "deck cargo" on a submarine....

Didn't turn up and seller/ eBay refunded postage and purchase.

The other day, a parcel in the post with that odd sticker with the date of "03 September" on it. Yep, the badge.....

I do notice a postcode "2022" so am wondering if this is not a postcode but an expected delivery date.....

Today's mail brought me a small packet with a nurses badge from Australia to the US. The post mark was back in June. We thought it was surely lost!!!!

I guess the old saying - "Never give up" is right!!!
