Default Two questions about regiments

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask you a question about the badges of the South African regiments that freed my city during the Second World War. The Witwatersrand Rifles/De la Rey regiment, First City/Cape Town Highlanders regiment, Imperial Light Horse/Kimberley regiment are made up of two distinct regiments that joined during WW2. Did these regiments also adopt a unique badge different from the previous ones or not? The same question also applies to patches, etc.

The quick answer is yes and no, and if you search the South African Army section of the forum https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...splay.php?f=17 for these combined regiments, you will find images of the badges.

WR/DLR had a new beret badge consisting of the letters WR over DLR

ILH-KR had a new shoulder title consisting of letters ILH and KR separated by a diamond shape.

FC/CTH - no unique badge

FC/CTH wore a green and gold hackle on their khaki Balmorals with battledress. Regimental badges retained otherwise.
See http://smallwarssouth.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_8.html for pictures of the green and gold hackle being worn.
