During WW2 the Canadian Parachute Corps cap badges were made in plastic, brass and officer's bi-metal silver and gilt. All of these badges were lugged or screw posts, no sliders. (Joyce Chapter 9, p85-100).
For a comprehensive well researched and documented examination of the Canadian Parachute Battalion badges, a must have reference is Ken Joyce's Into the Maelstrom. (Available through Service Publications).

Another source for Into the Maelstrom on ebay. (I have no connection to the vendor.)

oc14: just look here for pix of authentic OR patterns. Also, this thread. In a nutshell, brass only, no sliders ever and no voids -- the fastest way to dismiss the plethora of British-made repros from a possible real deal.

This one looks like the real deal if you are looking for a CanParas badge. Usual disclaimer: no connection to seller, yada yada.

Pete Hall only sells replica items, simply avoid this seller!
