Thakns again. I got the "database error" om clicking the "thanks" button on Saturday .
But all is well and running again.

I amended the list, assuming that the other two commands have the sequence in battalions as you give them (which is logical because they are in the numbered sequence):

Wellington Regiment 1st Battalion, Wellington Regiment
Wellington West Coast Regiment 2nd Battalion, Wellington Regiment
Hawkes Bay Regiment 3rd Bttalioan, Wellinton Regiment
Taranaki Regiment 4th Battalion, Wellington Regiment
Canterbury Regiment 1st Battalion, ?? Regiment
Nelson Marlborough Regiment 2nd Battalion, ?? Regiment
Otago Regiment 3rd Battalion, ?? Regiment
Southland Regiment 4th Bttalion, ?? REgiment

Do you, by chance, know the designations of ??? Regiment and ?? Regiment?
I can not find any information about this 1921-1923 period on the Internet.

The above information is more easily found. But it is good to see it summarized.

Thank you, I realy appreciate your information.

Just so there is no misunderstanding, the 1921/1923 changes for the other Commands are as follows-

The Northern Command
The 3rd Auckland Regiment (CRO) was designated 1st Battalion Auckland Regiment, and in 1923 were re-designated as the Auckland Regiment.

The 6th Hauraki Regiment was designated 2nd Battalion Auckland Regiment, and in 1923 were re-designated as the Hauraki Regiment.

The 15th North Auckland Regiment was designated 3rd Battalion Auckland Regiment, and in 1923 were re-designated as the North Auckland Regiment.

The 16th Waikato Regiment was designated 4th Battalion Auckland Regiment, and in 1923 were re-designated as the Waikato Regiment.

The Southern Command
The 1st Canterbury Regiment and 2nd South Canterbury Regiment amalgamated to become the 1st Battalion Canterbury Regiment, and in 1923 were re-designated as the Canterbury Regiment.

The 12th Nelson Marlborough Regiment and 13th North Canterbury and Westland Regiment amalgamated to become the 2nd Battalion Canterbury Regiment, and in 1923 were re-designated as the Nelson Marlborough Regiment.

The 4th Otago Regiment and 10th North Otago Regiment amalgamated to become the 1st Battalion Otago Regiment, and in 1923 were re-designated as the Otago Regiment.

The 8th Southland Regiment and 14th South Otago Regiment amalgamated to become the 2nd Battalion Otago Regiment, and in 1923 were re-designated as the Southland Regiment.
