1st NZ Expeditionary Force Badges
Hello folks. I am currently trying to put together the badges of the 1st NZEF from WWI and am finding it nearly impossible to find the various Mounted Rifles regiments.
Of the 48 badges in total I have managed to get 21 so far, and with the exception of a couple of dodgy fakes bought on ebay (damn my terrible exchange rate) I am pretty happy with my progress. Just really after some other places to look apart from Trade-me and ebay or anyone who may have a badge or two from that era and who would be keen to pass them on to a good home. I will post some pics of the badges I have got so far in due course. Cheers Rob

Why don't you post a list of the ones you are missing in the Forum Wanted pages. I do have some NZ badges - Tudor crown NZE, a Kiwi Pioneer Regt., for example. If you can identify the missing badges by using the Cox reference - that would help me, to help you. Most of mine are displayed in my Album - Whether these are what you are after..... david

2nd Wellington West Coast Mounted Rifles

read your posts - I am after just one badge - the 2nd Wellington West Coast Mounted Rifles - my gt. granddad served with them - leaving in 1914 - any help most appreciated and it would be an honour to get hold of one - thanks in advance - good luck with your searches - Wayne Hughes-Sparrow

The 1st NZ Expeditionary Force Badge was a reinforcement badge that was generally only worn in New Zealand or on the troopships from the 33rd reinforcements onward. As such it was not worn at Gallipoli.
