Hello Andy,

Personally, I think you have a nice badge there.

I am aware that there is the school of thought that does not hold with the distended Minerva's chin variation (the so-called 'Brucie'), but there is plenty of evidence about to support this variant as being perfectly good.

The slider seems to be attached a tad high, but the w/m 'ARTISTS' badge has a high slider, so this is not ringing any alarm bells for me.

All the best,

Peter.

I agree with Peter. Sometimes we end up trying to pick the black bits out of the pepper regarding the authenticity of badges, some of which is based purely on conjecture. I'd keep it in my collection, especially noting 8th Foot's advice here:
http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ad.php?t=27027

A few good badges have been consigned to the duds bin based simply on opinion and conjecture, especially good RND badges that don't have the Guant plate on them.

Regards
Chris

Thanks Peter, Your opinion is highly valued mate

Thanks also Chris, you have raised a valid point. When you think that some people have take a hammer to a badge that they have been informed is a restrike/copy. It would be terrible if they were wrong.

Andy
