Default RMP Sgt.(?)...well........hummmmm.....

A Luftwaffe officer is escorted down the gangplank of a hospital ship to exercise on the quayside at Newhaven,. He was one of a number of wounded German POWs awaiting repatriation in a prisoner exchange which was abandoned days later when negotiations broke down. England. October 5th 1941.

By the look of his right hand, his flying days must have been over (hence his name being on a repatriation list?)

I reckon that is an Intelligence Corps cap badge - so Field Security and not CMP who would have a red top to his SD Cap and an MP arm band.

Seen that before. It looks like the Luftwaffe guy has an artificial right hand/arm. He looks quite contemptuous of the fat Field Security guy who has obviously been eating someone else's rations as well!

Agreed, I would think a pre war regular enlistment, moreover, I dare say, he might well have been very exceptional at his particular job, doubtless his size would have been rather intimidating to a great many POW's.
