Default US badges

Good morning,

I need your advice about these badges presented as Vietnam War issues.

Hello Lauent,

I am not an expert on VN beer can insignia. I own one. Your top 3 resemble mine. Beer can insignia were made from flattened beer cans and are as a result thin, more so than those commercially produced. The bottom, round, piece I don’t believe is from Vietnam. The fastener is wrong for that period being of the type I associate with WWII. Also, I have seen this insignia before. I will have se if I can find it.

Found it. Atlantic Base Command, WWII.

As already noted your 179th Hooks and Otter Air Service are period made “beercan” Distinctive Insignia. Period meaning Vietnam Nam war era. The other two while not Vietnam Era appear to be originals.
