London Rgt. RF pagri patches in Malta, 1914-15
Hello everyone,
Attached is a diagram of what I believe the London Regiment Royal Fusilier battalions wore on their topees whilst in Malta. It is not meant as a statement of fact, but rather as a query. If anyone has anything they might like to add- any corroboration or contradiction- I would be very grateful. Information used to make the diagram comes from IWM records and photographs in the relevant London Regiment history books. I think that, at least in some cases, the first and second lines both used the pictured patch (I am not sure about the hackle). Many thanks, Chris Attachment 195764 Last edited by Drew; 11-12-18 at 08:10 AM. |

From the IWM:
1/2nd Bn. "Red and black rectangle vertically bisected." 2/3rd Bn. "Diagonally bisected red and blue square." 2/4th Bn. "Red and blue trapezium-shaped patch. Worn as pagri badge, red to the front on left of pagri". (Photographs show it being worn on both sides). |
