Default Brecknockshire Rgt.

Hi, acquired recently, though this badge is cast and has a pin fastener seen on sweethearts it looks to have really good detailed finish to front of badge!
Affiliated to the South Wales Borders, other than this I know nothing on it? Can someone fill me in regards the manufacture of this being how it was done or not?
Also acquired the Shoulder Title and what I think might be the Collars though not quite matching! The badge is really quite heavy!

Many thanks Billy

... I like that Billy. Its possibly missing a chain safety loop that was fixed in the middle? I have a DHY thats identical in manufacture... that I think is Egyptian made.

Thanks Griff, centre has remenants of a stem, bottom isctoo flush to know what may have been there? Good to know other badges are similar, so just to confirm a legit theatre made badge for use in service, possibly made in Egypt? Thanks! Billy

Hi Billy,
They were sent out to India to replace regular battalions during the 1st World War so quite possibly a theatre made replacement. I have something similar in my collection.
Hwyl,
Kevin

..... Egyptian/Indian made for a Wife/Sweetheart badge or even a spare field badge. But its just a guestimate.
