Ceylon Cadet Battalion question

Hey

So I have figured out that these are ceylon cadet Battalion badges and theres also a picture of a Button and I'll post that in the right forum too but what I was wondering is what is the patch behind is it for a certain section or is this for the whole battalion??? And the button is marked extra superb so I'm.told that was used in first quarter of the 20th century so are this original to when the Battalion was created do you think?
