Default Rifle Regts Colour Sgts arm badge?

I bought this at a car boot this morning, blackened brass and mentioned in Langley and Edwards excellent book, some controversy as to when worn and by who.

Any thoughts and positive information welcome.

Regards Rob

Rob,

Thats a buglers badge in a Rifle Regiment.

Nothing to do with a Colour sergeant.

regards

Cool Buglers badge

Simon,

Thanks for your reply, this badge appears to have some age to it and when I looked in Langley and Edwards it was a little vague to my mind.

Regards Rob

Rob,

Oh yes, definately old, probably pre- WW2.

A single bugle and/or crossed bugles have been 'part' of the Colour Sergeants badge in the RVC, Rifle Regiments and RMLI but never in metal.

regards
