Default Glengarry and field service cap

Hello everyone,

Firstly my apologies for my message here I know I'm not the best place.

However, after hours of research, I found nothing interesting.

I therefore appeal to your indulgence and your kindness.

Looking documentation, books to buy or sites and internet forums dealing with the subject of Glengarry and Field Service Cap.

I love that there are referenced and the various side badge, manufacturers and tips for not buying copies.

I hope you can help me my friends.

thank you in advance

cordially
Gael

Gael, in haste.
The Glengarry was introduced in 1878. It was replaced by the, slightly smaller, FSC in 1893. However the G continued to be worn by Scots regiments. the FSC was officially phased out in 1906 (except still worn in India up to at least 1914) - it made a come-back in the 1930s then dropped again in about 1943.
You will find official references at TNA etc - I'll try and find them for you later.

TNA is The National Archive (in Kew) and FSC is Field Service Cap.
