Cumberland Regt.
Has anyone got any ideas about this one.
It is similar to a Border Regt badge but has a completely blank centre and the words 'Cumberland Regt.' on the circlet. It's brass and I found it in the Portobello Road Antique Market. It is about 2.25" across in every direction and has normal cap badge attaching lugs in a east west configuration. My suspicion is it's a Schools C.C.F. or O.T.C. badge. I wrote to the Border R. museum but got a predictable no reply. It's got me stumped. Any Ideas, anyone ? |

Hi Bill.
This is the best I can do for you on this one. Other than this, I give up as well. It looks like the 'main part' of the glengarry badge below. DSC00138.jpg Differences: Glengarry has: 34 prominently in the centre, which is raised. Regiment is spelt in full. One * between Cumberland and Regiment. More battle honours. Voiding in amongst the leaves. Doesn't really help you though. Regards Brian |
