I am interested because this design did not last very long..... and changed to KK1030 Wreath & Cypher "Military Police" therefore the first design would of had a single manufacturer.

Pictures would be really appreciated

Griff, These are my 2 for comparison and expert opinion please. Both are going on the Bay tomorrow whatever the replies.

Hi

Well both are the usual bi-metal that you will find.... I have highlighted one, it has what appears to be the right crest (probably a copy) but the wrong scroll. Its certainly not the same badge (either of them) as shown in K&K?

Seen here http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ht=foot+police ?

Still not happy with any of the badges in that thread Alan.... they are not "exactly" identical to the one shown in K&K.

Thanks for that, I aim to put them up as space fillers rather than bin them. Apologies to those who consider it a bad thing to pass on alleged duds. I will apply the usual caveat to badges for which I have no provenance.

Looking at all the descriptions of dates, I'm wondering what did they wear in the Great War. Seems like the one we have as 1914-18 was used from 1926 onwards. Did I read it wrong?

Hi Simon

Doesn't 1926 mark the date when the MMP and MFP became the Corps of Military Police?

Yes, but they show the badge thought was seen as the 1914-18 type. Was it the same badge, but they just amalgamated?

The one in K&K must either be in the vaults of the auction house that sold off the K&K collection..... or now in a private collection?

Would they have worn their regimental badge but with shoulder title as you mention, before the wreath badge came into use.
