That's a corker of a helmet plate especially with the pair of bando sticks behind the number.
You should also ask the museum for an image of the belt buckle to go with the uniform. Ta Jonathan |

Afraid that’s all they had and a pair of trousers which I have just added, was donated in the 1930’s and been hidden ever since

I had that helmet out of its storage box about 10 years ago. It's in remarkably good condition. Fontagarry has the other ranks badge, in relic condition. If memory serves me right it was dug up in Margam Park.

That is a beautiful plate, I love the yellow gilt of those Victorian badges, and the yellow brass of the OR's.
What pattern Shako is it please, I'm assuming it's a Shako? Cheers Chris |

The shako is missing it’s Pom Pom what colour do you think it would have been, I’m considering getting the uniform copied, would look good done the range when I’m shooting my 3 band Enfield

It is a Shako and this is the actual item. It is held in the Regimental Museum at Brecon. I'll check on the pattern later and see if I have any info on the colour of the ball tuft, if one was worn. |

1844 pattern is the closest in the MHS Shako book, that I can see anyway.
A lovely item. Chris |

It's an 1855-61 pattern shako, so yes aka the French pattern shako.
