from the perspective of an outsider, she always struck me as a monarch who led from the front. Can’t say that about many “world leaders” these days. Sincere condolences to you all...

I am totally devastated it feels like a family member has died. I was once on a guard of honour for her l nearly bust the buttons off my tunic with pride.

I have prompted myself to take out my old RAF Form 60 dated 1968 and reread my Oath of Allegiance to Her Majesty, Heirs and Successors. RIP Queen Elizabeth II.
