Default RMP & Provost cloth badges?

Hi folks

Messing about with my RMP stuff and have questions about these two items.

The first is a 'orrible thing looking like a cloth cap badge, is this completely fictitious ?

Secondly a straight cloth title 'Provost' is it British? Is it a Regimental Police item?

Any help would be appreciated
Regards
Sean

Default badge

Hi Sapper

Re Provost badge my understanding is that this was worn by members of the WRAC attached to the CMP / RMP in days gone by and worn on the chest. I look forward to see what others have to say.

Regards

I've seen the curved one the was worn by Wrac Povost Companies on the shoulder but never seen a picture of one on the chest. Interesting.

That's great Leigh, that's the first mention of the straight title I've ever seen.

Sean.
I have an example of the embroidered RMP cap badge. It is quite small and I suspect it might have been intended for a beret on a souvenir teddy bear. A similar item exists of a Royal Marine small embroidered beret badge once sold on a teddy bear by unit PRIs and the RM Museum shop.

Thanks for that Tim, in fact I have the RM teddy bear badge, now confined to the tat drawer, you may well be right about the RMP one too
