Default Lancashire (PWV) Regt Badge post April 1969

I have been fortunate to gain the loan of some sets of Lancashire PWV journals within which there are images of the Collar badge to the Lancashire (PWV) Regt being worn in the No2 Dress Cap. The image attached is from Nov 1969, there are earlier images back to April 1969 but this is the best one for showing the badge worn

After further reading, it would seem the collar was worn on the yellow badge backing with beret

The 4th South Lanc's existed until 1st April 1967 when T.A.V.R. was formed.
I did my first ever camp with the TA in 1966 with the 7th Cheshire's. The battalion was part of 126th Brigade, 42nd Division which consisted of the 4th and 7th Cheshire's and 4th South Lanc's. I remember them wearing the South Lanc's badge.

Thanks George,
It's nice to have confirmation from someone who had boots on the ground, as I said in post 42 the 4th Bns of both the South and East Lancs Regt's still existed in name until the 1/4/67 wearing their respective badges and from that date were sadly reduced with some Coy's going to cadre strength and adopting the Lancastrian Brigade badge as worn by the regulars but known as the Lancastrian Volunteers
I realise we're I said post 1/4/67 it should of read Lancastrian Vols not Lacashire PWV on post 42

Hi Mike,
Yes, the yellow backing was kept through the Lancs PWV and QLR until they became part of the Duke of Lancs Regt
I can provide images of the Lancs PWV Regt wearing the backing through the 60s if required

Paul

Thank you for sharing those photos. I have long been of the opinion that we need more research from primary sources.

Well done.
