Question Crossbelt badge?

I would appreciate members thoughts on this item, sandcast with four bolts braized onto the reverse. Is it of a quality that would be passable and would it have been blackened?

It really is not part of my collecting sphere and it arrived with a collection I bought recently.

Depending on members thoughts it may be up for sale in the future.

Thanks in advance.

Rob

Cool WOW . . !

100 views and no thoughts, not a cap badge I know, but I would have thought some of the Irish experts may have some ideas.

Cool Quality

Andy,

I could not agree more about the quality, but would this notice if blackened and on a parade ground or similar location.

Obviously sandcast and not well executed at that, it remains to me a bit of a mystery as to why any Regiment such as the Royal Irish Rifles would ever sanction such an item if they ever did.

Of course it could have been made for something such as the Royal Tournament in London or something similar abroad. Certainly not made recently to fool any collector into thinking it's a genuine item.

I would wecome others thoughts . . !

Rob
