Odd badge on WWII Slouchie

I picked up this slouch hat today, but the badge is not one I recognise, though it strongly resembles the German DLV glider proficiency badge. Any thoguhts anyone as to what it is? It appears to have been in place for a long time and is a pin back badge similar to a sweetheart badge.
