need help with this badge for a friend who never knew her dad
I am searching for info on the badge in this photo. The person I am asking for never knew her dad, he died shortly before she was born. Her mother never talked about him, and until last week she didn't even know what he looked like, her brother who had been given this photo sent it to her. Thanks for any help in advance

There are 2 candidates:
The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry who wore the bugle badge in nickel. The Sherwood Rangers yeomanry who wore the same design in brass in WW1 but had a different badge in WW2. The most likely is the OBLI. |

Bugle badge
I'd say Sherwood Rangers by the cap with a yellow band.

Looks Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry as Rob says, I think if I remember the originally had a yellow or gold facing and he definitely looks a Yeomanry chap !!

Thanks everyone, and now that you have given me this info I can search further. I will look at both unit but from info I received late last night from her I believe it may also be the Sherwood unit as she told me they've near Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire. Thanks for your help everyone.

Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry
Having looked at my MHS Special number for 2006 "The Mess Dress of the Yeomanry Cavalry 1880-1914" by David J Knight and Robert J Smith the man in the photograph is definitely serving in Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry who wore a yellow band on their Staff pattern peaked Forage caps of Yeomanry Officers.
