Default Garrison battalion copy

Does anyone know the origin of the really heavy garrison battalion copy cap badge? I have known of this copy since around 1988. I thought it was a cast copy of the plastic cap badge but upon comparison it is actually smaller. And the crown is more like the officers pattern cap badge. It seems the badge is cast lead with a bronze finish on it. I have also seen this badge with lugs as well as a clutch pins. Im just curious as to where these came from, they are well made but not an exact representation of either badge.

Default I don't know.

I have the authentic plastic and the copy, but with clutch pins rather than lugs. I do not have the BM officer. Those copies have been around since at least the 1980s when I started collecting.

I believe they were made up by "Captain John's Cargo" in the early 1980s.
