Default Military Provost ?

I Picked this photo up with Norfolk yeomanry penciled on the back, It seems to be the small provost type badge on his cap (the reason i bought the picture) but his shoulder titles look like RUC after scanning and magnifying.
Any idea's.
Andy

Hello Andy,

How are you?

Instead of RUC, could it be RDC do you think?

A long shot, given that I'm using a phone to view & can't make out the shoulder titles - any chance the cap badge is actually AVC?
Edited - should've typed RAVC, not AVC.

The dog is fine, although she has just come into season

Like your picture, the one I have was sold as Norfolk Yeomanry. I am pretty sure the title is RDC.

Interested to hear what others think though.

This is confusing! Is he MPSC or RNY? Is the shoulder title RDC or RUC?
I would lean towards RDC by saying he was Royal Defence Corps and transfered to the MPSC or RNY and still waiting to change his S/T. Or the other way round....
Its possible ???????

The cap badge looks like it has a shape of a Centaur in the middle. The shoulder title would fit Westlake 493 (AVC). So it's possible this was around 1918 and he hasn't upgraded his S/T to RAVC.

Yep, now a better quality image is posted I'd go firm on Geo V cypher rather than RAVC.
The S/T looks like RDC.

As pointed out by many - he is indeed "Royal Defence Corps", whose members wore the Royal Cypher capbadge and "RDC" shoulder titles. I have somewhere among all of my paperwork the A.C.I. regarding the formation of the Corps, which if I remember correctly desrcibes the wearing of the above.
