Connection problem

Hi all can I seek advice as am having a connection problem, can access the a forum on my phone but my Tablet comes up as "This Web page is unavailable " or there is a connection problem??

Have gone into History and tried this also but nothing!

Any ideas?? Cheers Billy

Hi , the website is on a new server and nameservers and DNS entries have been changed to point to a new location. I would say your device is still looking at the old location.

If you search for the forum on google on your tablet, if it loads, bookmark that as the forum link and delete the old link.

...or clear your browser history and cache and try the existing link again

I’m not sure if it’s relevant but I’m having problems commenting on photos in albums? It takes ages to save and just times out. Funny thing is I am sometimes able to post comment but then an edit of it will not save, same endlessly ‘posting message - please wait’ message.

I just has a go at posting test comments on a grey green acorn's album and they went up no problem, I could edit without issues as well?

give it a bit longer. see if it persists. possibly a 'number of connections' thing? (I hope not)

ok, I've sent you a link to the forum via email, open it on the tablet and see if that works

I wondered if it may be to do with special characters as a section of my text had brackets and a \ .

Still having issues, I was able to post the word ‘test’ but not my full text which also included a link.

Discovered if I went ‘edit’ > ‘go advanced’ it worked much smoother.

I tried a comment (and edit) on that one - no issues, lightning fast.

I posted more comments - it hung once, clicked the advanced and it cleared it.

How strange, maybe it’s me then. Recently I have noticed text misaligning on posts. I use an iPhone 11 running iOS 15.1 so not mega modern but hardly antique also.

No I saw it as well. If I had to guess I would say a traffic volume issue/connections. I'll ask about it on Monday.

If it helps I originally tried posting the comment at 1.30am this morning. Wouldn’t work so I gave up after 2 or 3 attempts & refreshes and went to sleep.

It took me about a dozen attempts to post both those comments this afternoon and several attempts at trying to edit.

ok, that's handy to know, I'll pass word on. Of course we could have a lot of search engine bots at any time adding to traffic.
