Netherlands patches
Does anyone know what formations the attached two badges are worn by please?
Also when this style of manufacture of Netherlands badges was taken into use? I would appreciate any information on these, please. Fred |

Netherlands patches
Hi Henk,
Many thanks for identifying the two patches, and for letting me know that this type is for the walking out uniform from circa 2003. I assume all current patches are available in this type of manufacture. One question on the 1st Airmobile Brigade - I know the former version of this did not have the letters EM on it. Do you know when these letters were added? Thanks for any other information you can give. Fred |

The way I try to help you is by searching on the internet. Special on Netherlands language web sites because you will probably have problems in understanding them. Now the internet is a fine thing, but when it comes to the details you want, you often do not get them.
This page https://www.defensie.nl/organisatie/...obiele-brigade, from the DoD, shows the current badge, but the caption that goes with it does not mention the letters E M at all . Probably the text was there and later the badge picture changes without adapting the text. Sloppy! This page http://collectie.legermuseum.nl/stra...n/i006120.html, from the Army Museum, shows the range of formation badges used, but fails to add dates. It does however explain the meaning of E M. Those were on the badge of the former 1st Division below the arms of Batavia (nowadays Jakarta, Indonesia) and the meaning is Expeditionaire Macht (Expeditionary Force). The caption adds that it now also means Every Man, Every Moment. As the text also says that the standard five sided form is introduced with the new DT, the changed must have been after the date of it's introduction. While it is called DT 2000, I assume that it really started life in 2003. Sorry, still vague. I will try to find more.
