Indian Collar / Rank Badges

Here's a puzzler for you chaps .
Indian Collar / Rank Badges .
Dimensions- Weight 8 grams each
- Finish Gold Top , Black Rear
- 3/4" Wide x 1 1/8" High

What I do know is that they are WW2 era , Australian Made ,No Maker Markings , Unissued. My source is trusted and I've just opened the original paper package with 25 pairs in it.

They are post 1947.

I think that design was worn in chrome on shoulder straps by Indian senior police officers I worked with 1999 / 2000.
