Hi have had this a while, missing the badge but what would be the correct one to be a correct fit to make it whole? Many thanks Billy

The beret looks to be the red rather than para maroon version, it bears the impression of the signals lightning "flash" badge?
(Then again perhaps it's just my eyes and the beret is maroon, in which case it would have borne a diving eagle within an oakleaf wreath similar to the old WWII German para combat badge).
I can't remember the date of introduction of the range of beret badges with the small anodised German flag mounted at the bottom of the design, prior too rose versions the badges didn't bear a flag.
The inverted "A" ink stamped in the beret indicates that it's been "cast".

Default W. German Para Beret Badge

Good day Billy,

Assuming that the date on the tag is the date of manufacture, you will want the metal version that has the German National flag (black, red, yellow) at the base of the wreath. This flag was added to German beret badges in 1979.

Showing the examples I have in my collection. First is pre-79, second is post-79.

The NSN is for a Coral Red beret (not maroon) and the badge should be Signals as per the imprint in the cloth.

Do the wearers of these badges also have some connection with maintaining and the operation of this forum?
