Hi Keith. Here you go......(I'm happy it's a good 'un anyway) DSC00409.jpg DSC00410.jpg DSC00411.jpg[ 1st Taken with a flash to show the definition a little clearer. 2nd Natural 3rd Rear......and I do agree, it does look a tad rough, but that's cast badges for you And just for good measure: 2 lugged examples: I am reasonably happy with these, but I'm ready to be told differently, (which I suspect I will be). Hi Paul.
Although the crown is a slightly different pattern to ones I have, I like your offering. It looks aged, worn and shaped and I do appreciate that fakes are made this way, but nevertheless I still like it. I do expect that others will disagree with me though. Regards Brian |

not one I'd keep sorry, looks like an aged repro?: * Out of proportion curve to the "2". * "5" too close to the hub. Best regards Andy |

Thanks gents. To me is the same as the one second row far right in Wilf's album http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...p?albumid=1498
It has the verticle line on slider left as well. Regards, Paul |

The out of proportion 2 is a trait of a genuine design but one that has been widely faked. The amount of fake badges with theis design of 2 greatly outweighs the number of original badges.

Thanks Keith and Alan. And thank you Wilf for your comment and pointers to the most common copy earlier in this thread. Regards, Paul.

Paul,
I still think you have a dud and if it cost more than £10 I'd return it now before you are stuck with it! Although I admit it is similar to a "Woodward" badge, it differs a great deal; the "5" touching the hub, the off-center row of pearls to the crown, the bend in the "2" which looks like a bulging inner tube, all small points which shout "FAKE" to me! Thanks Andy-I'm OK keeping it as It cost under £10 inc. postage. Sounds like this is a badge in a number of 'London' collections. I'll be keeping an eye on the well known dealers sites to see if it crops up. Cheers, Paul.

Would you have any objection to it being added to our collection on http://www.25thlondon.com/index.htm? Do you have any other items that you would be willing to share? (And I'm going to be cheeky here - if you ever decide to offload any items related to The Londons we would be very pleased to give them a new home ) Regards Russell |

Another for opinion. Large voids in the crown. Regards, Paul.
