Oh well, there is no accounting for taste.

Personally, I like the one that showed that David Davis was, at heart, no Brexiteer.

The things some politicians will do to climb that greasy pole.

An endless debate. You may as well try and convince vicars that God is part of a fairy tale, or try and tell grass not to grow. You'll have as much luck.

This is being aimed at both sides of the argument.

Personally I think it’s very sad this thread has had more posts in the last fortnight than any threads about badges or the hobby.

If some members put as much effort into badges or research as they have into replies on this thread then something relevant to this forum may have been achieved or discovered!

I’m surprised and disappointed the mods haven’t closed this down considering it obviously breaks the ‘no contentious political topics’ rule of this section of the forum.

As Phil rightly points out this is a topic with such great depth and breadth of issues where people are often polarised that ‘converting’ someone is almost unheard of. The saying ‘we’ll have to agree to disagree’ is the most appropriate phrase and could/should have ended this discussion several pages ago.

No, Brexit is the fairy tale.

Scroll up to my earlier posts that mention David Davis.

Clearly, he can not believe in Brexit, given his speech in the House of Commons in 2002.

To be fair, maybe would have gone along with Brexit if the referendum had been held under the conditions he stated?

However, as the referendum was rigged, in that the two groups of people with the most to lose - British ex pats living in the EU, and 16 to 18 year olds - were excluded.

This is quite apart from the breaking of electoral rules, and Russian involvement. Anything that weakens the EU and weakens us even more, helps Putin.

Did you miss Putin calling for Theresa May to go ahead with Brexit? It was in the media yesterday, and today:

'There was a referendum, what can she do?': Putin tells May to fulfil Brexit – video

https://www.theguardian.com/world/vi...promises-video

David Davis, being your typical politician, went along with Brexit, as doing so was good for his career. But did he believe in the way the referendum was held? It certainly did not meet his own criteria.

I can remember the Brexiteers shouting it from the rooftops when President Obama said we will be at the back of the queue in any post Brexit trade talks, which we will.

I don't seem to hear the same furore when the leader of Russia, the country that poisons people in England, passes comment.

Brexiteers are actively going along with something that badly weakens our country, and still think they are patriots.

Priceless.

I agree with you, most politicians are.

This is why I find it strange that you have voted to give all power to Westminster, and think that you are "taking back control".

The EU have been telling Westminster to clean up our air for many years. Our government has fought this in the courts while tens of thousands of British people died.

"Air pollution causes around 40,000 early deaths every year in Britain, according to the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. The EU summoned Michael Gove, the environment secretary, to Brussels earlier this year to account for the UK’s persistently high levels of toxic nitrogen dioxide, and to explain what policies the government would bring in to resolve the issue."

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...-a8355711.html

Brexiteers claim that the EU is some authoritarian super state, when all the while, the EU can not force the UK, or five other EU countries, to save their own peoples lives.

Taking back control?

Priceless!

They couldn't do any worse than the shower we have running the country at the moment.
