What are these patches?
I will try this again for the second time, (My first post got dumped!). Can any member tell me what these arm flashes belong to? I traded the shield shaped patch with an exchange Officer at CFB Borden many years ago but cannot remember what branch of service he was. I believe he came from the former Yugoslavia. When I find what they are, they will be offered to members on a trade basis. If you go to my albums, there are a few more cloth pieces for trade. Thank you. David J.

Hi AATTV, I think Vincent has it correct, the blue colour on Moldovian badges tends to be a lighter shade. The excellent site Kokosar identifies it as "contract worker" but sometimes the meaning gets lost in translation. Both Romania and Moldova use the Cyrilic alphabet but the M and A are the same in the Latin alphabet, hence my jump, wrongly, to the conclution the M A stood for Moldovian Armia, hope this helps Mike

Hi Mike, as I said the translations are sometimes slightly off. My southern slavic is pretty basic but I should have picked up on "vojnici". It still doesn't explain what they are, but a fabulous site. I've been trying to get in touch with him for years but can't get a response from him, I have nearly a thousand US police badges from the 70's and a lot of correspondence from the different police forces. He is, I think, a security officer, hence his interest in police forces. Anyway I digress, best wishes Mike
