Default SAAF 1950s

IMO some of the nicest SAAF badges and uniforms appeared during the 1950s. Much smarter than the plac-a-tac they wear now.

1st Image:

Top: Colonel/Brigadier

Bottom: 2/Lt to Commandant

2nd Image:

Air Mechanic to Warrant Officer Class I

Interesting, the top one looks like a QC badge. I have the blacked backed badges (junior officers) in KC & QC but it's the first time I've seen that with a QC! Very nice and unusual

Photo from 1955 edition of Commando magazine showing the badges been worn. I like the uniforms and insignia of the UDF period post war and pre Republic.
