Default Unknown Badges
Hi everyone.
Kevin from Australia.
I have a collection of medals and badges handed down from my father (WW2) and paternal grandfather (boer war) and maternal grandfather (WW1).
I have attached two badges pictures that i cannot identify what they are for and from what war.
My grandfather from the Boer war has never been found in Australian records. All i have is a photograph of him in Australia in a Boer war dress uniform in Australia.
Any assistance on badges welcome.

Unless the Australians did things differently it was later a Qualification badge.

Hi Kevin, I would very much like to see your grandfather in his Boer War uniform. My grandfather was in the NSW army at the time but did not go to Sth Africa.

Default Arthur Boole in Boer War dress uniform
Kingsley. Find attached a photograph of Arthur Boole. Taken with his wife beside him. May be when he left or after his return. Not sure where he enlisted. Born in England and came to Australia possibly in 1890s.
Think the hat badge i posted is his but it is not Australian issue. Kevin

Hello,

That photo shows a WW1 soldier wearing the 1914 Pattern Leather belt.

The badge in post 1 is the Royal Arms worn from 1902 to 1952 with Kings Crown in a variety of ways.

As a cap badge, General List and General Service corps and the Volunteer Training Corps of WW1.

As a collar for the above in same size.

As a rank badge on the arm by an RSM.

Its a most common badge and may not have been his but just one he aquired.
