Default Trial plates/badges

Hi

i have recently obtained at auction a lot which includes 5 TRIAL plates, 4 in brass and 1 in white metal. All are stamped 'TRIAL' and also have the manufacturers name stamped on them 'Lambourne & Co Birmingham. I am not at all sure what they are, I guess some sort of pre - production examples, but for what, badges belt plates???? Can anyone please throw some light on this.
The badges are for: Glamorgan Yeomanry, Ayrshire Yeomanry, 19th POW Hussars, 2nd Bn The Duke of Wellingtons Regiment and The Suffolk Regiment.

Thank You (in anticipation)

Stan Jobson

Thanks for that guys, what a sickener, I have been collecting for 50 years and still get caught although I thought it was unusual that I had never seen such things before, now I'm worrying about the helmet plate that came with them.

Heeers
