Default Popskis Private Army shoulder title

Kind greetings.
I was lucky enough to acquire a pair of these very rare and original shoulder titles. Rare enough to present this specimen to the badge forum for future reference as so few are ever seen.

You should know me by now having just a few badges to complete my complete or extensive collection.
The PPA shoulder title is probably the 'Penny Black' of the British cloth badge collecting community.

Before this is presented to a well-known British auction site with a 20% plus commission for both buyer and vendor at some 40%. I thought I would offer it here.

An offer over 2000 pounds will secure this item. Any pm will be taken in date order for the next 4 days and all offers replied. After 4 days the lucky owner will be advised. I am happy if the offer remains secret.

Given the rarity of the item this post may spread to a number of thread sites.

Good luck, Ian

Thank you for making me clarify.

The first offer over 2000 will secure the badge. Paypal friends or family. I shall pass on the details. Cheers, Ian

Superb.. Many thanks for sharing the image. It makes an interesting comparison with that illustrated as No 44 in Len Whittaker's STOPA.

Any provenance with titles you mention and the example photographed?

I guess there's nothing like making double the profit in six weeks especially from forum members.

Thank you for your kind comments to me in the PM section of this forum.

Yes, this was one of a pair. I paid more for the other one and the thought of having a pair was appealing at the time. The added costs of import duties to Australia were an added sting. Much like an auction site commission but this time it was the Australian government.

To answer one question from fellow member popskipa yes this pictured item was the actual one shown in your screen-shot of the original ebay listing. The other one was a buy-it-now. Another question. No I do not know who was the original wearer.

I got an offer from a forum member. As the first keen communication I have replied to this member but am awaiting the next step. I did not string this out as a nasty bidding war. First come first served and have honoured my word. This is despite further PM interests likely to my financial benefit.

A good and rare badge in any condition and when all goes ahead will likely command a special spot in the new owners collection. I am happy for him.

Quite frankly Peter, I never cease to be amazed, but, without any provenance whatsoever is a little disturbing, not something I would consider.
