Smile Lancer cross belt

I have been slowly getting the bits together for my 17th cross belt I can only display one officers uniform at a time. Finally I can display both. Final bit to the jigsaw a prickers and plate set.
I have noted of late these can command anything from £150 to £350 and not always hallmarked well had my little tickle for the year £40 the set big grin today ear to ear.

Default prickers

Harden Lancer officers would use them as tooth picks, this was frowned upon as they are suppose to be used to spike the guns were the fuse goes into the gun body...………………..bloody fiddly job in the middle of battle if you ask me.

Best Mac

Wow, the lancers job was to ride up to an enemy gun, kill the crew with his lance, get off his horse and snap a pricker off in the touch hole of the gun? twice??

Did anyone ever achieve this?

Apparently their trousers were too tight to allow them to get off the horse, so they reduced them in size to toothpicks instead
