Not having researched his service, SCLSGC could conceivably have been a possibility earned for WWI service prior to military.
(I'm unsure though whether such a SCLSGC, issued with the 1914-18 clasp, would have ribbon emblem on).
Yes, there would be a rose on the ribbon.

Thanks for that. He clearly must have had a later outfit made up with a full complement of medal ribbons.

Yes that's very interesting thank you, are there any from between the wars that may have shown a gap when he could have been a special constable?

The IGSM(1909) medal ribbon indicates inter-war service so I doubt it. I don't think the last ribbon is that of the SCLSM anyway.

Dear Rob. I used to live in Brigadier Snow’s house in Clutton, Somerset. As I bought it from auction, I have some of his memorabilia which I’m thinking of selling on eBay Feel free to contact me by email. I am happy someone else is interested in him
