Default Northumberland Fusilier

This doesn't seem to be the normal cap badge for the NF.
Anyone got any ideas?

Default Northumberland etc.

Alan is absolutely right. Is it silver on gilt, by any chance ? If so, it will be an officers' pattern shoulder title. I seem to detect from the photograph (although blurred) that it consists of 2 metals. Regards. David

cstudent,
I assume that yours looks very much like this one - yours is an earlier version of this one. The one I have has the scroll with Royal (i.e. its a later version).
