The Highlanders (QO and otherwise)
Am I correct in saying that while the cap badge of The Highlanders (Seaforth, Cameron & Gordon) was essentially the same as that of the QO Highlanders (S & C) that it succeeded, it was actually in three pieces instead of two? Or have I missed some other aspect of it?

Queen's Own Highlanders.
The Q.O.H.'s previously wore the 2 piece badge before the 1994 amalgamation with The Gordon Highlanders. Afterwards they were issued the 3 piece pattern.
A decent book to get a hold of is: Queen's Own Highlanders (Seaforth & Camerons) by Mr Angus Fairrie. Christopher |

The Highlanders had 2 badges.
The ORs wore the 'old' flat 2 part badge in a/a in working dress. NCOs wore the raised 3 part badge in metal. However in No 1 dress all ranks wore the 3 part badge. Alan Last edited by Alan O; 21-11-08 at 08:36 AM. |

Quote:
The shoulder titles were originally "Highlanders" the same as the QOHLDRS with the "QO" cut out, then this was changed to "The" ingold metal rather than anodised. |
