I think it was a badge issue number so the holder knew which was hers should it urm walk.

Came across these pics, one which shows a group of WAAC members, with what looks like an "officer", or it's equivalent, in the middle. She clearly has lapel badges, but no way of telling if the cap badge is bladed or lugged.
In the other picture, you can make out the lapel badge, and it looks smaller than the regular (cap) badge. Colin

Hello Colin,
as a newby I hope I get this right.... I have a Badge, similar to yours. Mine has the number plate on the reverse (G1362). Does anyone know why some have the Laurel Leaves, at the top of the badge, touching and some not ? Cheers, Teddy V |

heres one i found on ebay
obviously a different manufacturer but officers bronze OSD missing the prongs i have no idea about them. just found this badge after reading this post bc |
