Default RASC arm of service strip

I might be barking up the wrong tree with this but here goes,

On the attached photo of my Father's best BD from July 1945 his RASC arm of service strip can be seen below his 30 Corps insignia, but what looks like the yellow appears to be very long and not like the blue and yellow side by side colours I've seen, upon closer examination could it be possible that the blue is above the yellow?
In Martin Brayley & Richard Ingram's The WW2 Tommy it says a lot of badges and insignia were "adopted at unit level without official authority" could this be such a case?
At this point in time he was in Germany with 140 petrol Depot.
I'm sorry the picture is not the best but I've scanned it from a very small print that was in poor condition.
