Default East Anglian Brigade

Hello just wondered what the known list of makers are and how much typically the badges command. I know the Gaunt badges are the most common and there have been posts on the GS Tye but what about Firmin, Buttons etc?

Thanks

Hi,

According to 'No Bull' Chris Marsh's book on AA badges there are three manufacturers for the East Anglian Bde badge.

Gaunt - as you say quite common so low price.
Buttons Ltd - i paid £10 for mine in 2020
George S Tye - not at all common, i am still looking for one myself and suspect if and when i find it i will have to shell out at least £30 + maybe more.

Hope this helps
Regards
Steve

Im sure that theres a blank slidered version as well.
The lists Chris used in his book were from what people had in their collections. It covers most but not all examples.
Ive found a number that arent mentioned .

There are J.R.GAUNT LONDON and J.R.GAUNT B’HAM versions, both are two-piece.

The blank (unmarked) slider version is one piece. Is it a later produced ‘collector’ unofficial commission item?

Use of the badge should have ended by the mid 1960s when the Royal Anglian Regiment formed in September 1964?

Tim
