Default Which regiments would use this cap?

Hi all,

I am hoping that I can rebadge/button and chinstrap this cap. I was thinking that Grenadier Guards would work, am I right?

The cap is dated 1968. Sorry for the poor quality image, bad light.

Thanks in advance,

Phil

Thanks Griff, much appreciated. Just need to track down some buttons etc now. What would the chinstrap be made from?

Not sure if the strap would be leather or normal plastic? Just look up some Life Guards service dress cap images on google..... that should confirm it.

By the look of this one..... just bog standard plastic.

Hello Phil

I am not sure what size you want but presume they would be anodised aluminium, if so try here -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Life-Guard...Vpmj4i4ZK_bR8w

They might have the size you are looking for.

Regards
Roger

PS '22 ligne', the smallest button they offer, is about 14mm.

Hello Phil,

I think the cap badge you need is the Household Cavalry cap badge http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ER-Househo...8AAOSwsFpWSnd0

This badge is worn in the "best Cap" with the specific Life Guards or Blues and Royals badge being worn in the beret and forage cap. The cap buttons for your cap will be either Life Guards or Blues and Royals, depending on which you wish to represent.

I can forward to you a couple of Blues and Royals A/A cap buttons, but I only have one Life Guards button. They are a little bit more modern than your cap, but better than nothing.

Let me know if you want them?

Andy

Well done, I always think it is a good thing to do when you restore an item back to its former glory, especially head gear when its missing its badge and buttons etc...
