Bedfs and Herts Regt 'Flash' question
Shoulder title from a 'best' battle dress, backed with felt and the letters picked out in white.
The two items came together and the flash has the same felt backing. There are two holes in the flash, I would think for the lugs of a badge. Not sure if I have the flash the correct way up. I have wondered if it is for the slouch hat, but I have seen a black diamond with vertical yellow stripe. Any thoughts or suggestions ? Graham |

Hello Graham,
The flash looks a lot like the cap badge backing to the Middlesex Regt, any chance of a pic of the back of it and the size ? Gerard

Bedfs & Herts
Graham,
The title looks OK but the flash is NOT Bedfs & Herts to my knowledge. Their Regimental flash was the black/amber/black 'bumble bee' that is now worn by the R. Anglian Regt. The Bedfs & Herts cap badge backing was plain black. The R. Hampshire Regt were the other users of black and yellow cloth patches. Stephen. |

The 'flash' looks buff in colour but the little moth nip looks yellow/amber. The felt backing is identical.

I am familiar with the 'Bumble Bee' and a slouch hat flash [black diamond with yellow/amber vertical stripe]
The two holes in the flash seem to line up with the two lug version of a Bedfs and Herts collar badge. Hard to believe its not something to do with the B and H Regt as the felt is an exact match. [and they came together] Thanks for the replies. Graham. |
