Default torpedo badge

I have just been reading about a Torpedo Survivors badge in Howard Williamson's book on WW1 collecting. I seemed to remember that I had a rather similar looking badge in a box of RN rank and mustering badges. Is this badge one of those issued to Mercantile Marine torpedo survivors ?
Thanks
Mike

The Jluy 2012 issue of The Formation Sign journal of the Military Heraldry Society illustrated the attached gold wire version of this badge with the bar for a second sinking.

The reverse of the badge is shown with the paper label from the manufacturers.
