Looks like a nice 1949 pattern wing first worn by 21 SAS, (just testing what I've hopefully learned correctly from Johan on this forum, I'm sure to be corrected if I'm wrong).

Hi Jack,

I am proud of you!

Wings are indeed 1949 pattern. It is quite possible they were still worn in 1960. These wings look pretty well faded!

Wings do not fade like that in the UK. Probably worn overseas.

Cheers,

Johan

Depends where and how they're worn!

Default SAS wings

Yes, these wings are slightly faded because they were worn by a senior SAS officer in the Dhofar battles. I am awaiting a reply from the seller to conferm in writing that the information I have is correct. John.

Hi John,

Fascinating provenance that is... Will you share it, please, when you get the confirmation?

Cheers,

Johan
